Business Analyst (Data Migration)

My Dublin based client is recruiting for a Business Analyst (Data Migration) for a 6 month contract role with a view to be extended. The Business Analyst will play a key part in preparing and validating data required for migration into the new solution. The Business Analysts will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), technical teams, and programme governance to ensure data objects are accurately analysed, cleansed, and migrated in line with business and compliance needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Object Analysis – Analyse and document the scope and requirements for key data objects (e.g. customers, vendors, materials, stock, financial balances).
• Mapping & Transformation – Define detailed mapping rules, transformation logic, and cleansing requirements to ensure data readiness for migration.
• Collaboration with SMEs – Work with business SMEs to review data quality, resolve issues, and secure sign-off on data sets prior to migration.
• Migration Support – Support mock data loads, including reconciliation of migrated data, defect identification, and resolution tracking.
• Reporting & Governance – Provide regular progress updates and quality reporting, feeding into programme governance forums to ensure transparency and control.
