Data Analyst - PowerBI

A global financial services organisation based in Dublin is seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Specialist to support a high-profile reporting transformation project.

This role combines enterprise-level Power BI architecture expertise with strong analytical capability. The successful candidate will review, optimise, and enhance a centralised semantic model while ensuring reporting outputs are insightful, business-focused, and analytically robust.

This is a high-impact position suited to a senior data professional who can work across architecture, modelling, and business insight delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a detailed review of the existing centralised Power BI semantic model
• Provide prioritised technical and analytical recommendations (High / Medium / Low)
• Analyse reporting requirements and translate business needs into scalable data models
• Optimise dataset refresh automation, including orchestration with Snowflake workloads
• Reduce refresh times to improve performance and scalability
• Enhance data model structure, performance, and usability while preserving business logic
• Develop and refine DAX measures to support advanced analytical reporting
• Deliver high-quality, insight-driven dashboards with strong data storytelling
• Implement best practices for CI/CD, deployment, parameterisation, and governance
• Support a structured release and change management process
• Contribute to reporting standards, templates, and documentation
• Support stakeholder engagement, knowledge transfer, and training where required

Required Experience

• Strong experience in Power BI enterprise architecture and semantic modelling
• Advanced DAX, data modelling, and analytical report development expertise
• Proven experience working as a Data Analyst delivering business insight
• Strong understanding of Kimball star schema design principles
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
• Experience working independently in fast-paced, regulated environments
• Strong stakeholder communication and requirement-gathering skills

Desirable Experience

• Experience working with Snowflake
• Background in financial services or enterprise-scale organisations
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices in Power BI
