We are seeking a dynamic, governance-focused Data Analyst to join a growing data team within an IT function.
The successful candidate will support a structured schedule of data and analytics reporting, contribute to ongoing data quality and cleansing initiatives, and extract and transform data to align with central reporting frameworks. The role will also involve engagement with digital transformation initiatives aimed at improving data management across the organisation.
This position requires someone who understands the intersection of business operations and data. The ideal candidate will be able to translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders and project teams, with an appreciation for structured or regulated environments considered beneficial.
Core Responsibilities
- Analysis and Interpretation: Analyse complex datasets to identify trends and assess alignment with KPIs and business forecasts.
- Data Cleansing: Support data extraction and cleansing activities to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of datasets.
- Reporting & Visualisation: Develop dashboards, scheduled reports, and data visualisations to support decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate proactively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure data usage aligns with organisational objectives and internal policies.
- Data Mapping: Undertake data mapping and documentation exercises as required.
- Project Support: Contribute to strategic and digital transformation projects as needed.
Skills and Experience
- Qualification or equivalent experience in data analytics, data science, statistics, computer science, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years’ experience in a data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics-focused role.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation.
- Experience with data visualisation tools and advanced Excel.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean).
- Experience working within project or change management frameworks.
- Exposure to financial data and/or predictive modelling is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical insights to non-technical audiences.
Desirable Qualifications and Attributes
- Experience working in a regulated or professional services environment.
- Familiarity with predictive modelling techniques.
- Understanding of data governance, AI ethics, and data protection principles (e.g. GDPR).
- Interest in digital transformation and emerging trends in data and AI.
