Data & Business Intelligence Engineer – Investments | Dublin (Hybrid)


A leading global financial services firm is seeking a Data & Business Intelligence Engineer to join its Dublin-based Investments Technology team. This is a high-impact opportunity to contribute to the development of scalable data solutions that support the management of a multi-billion-dollar investment portfolio.


Working within a collaborative, agile environment, you will be instrumental in building and optimizing data infrastructure to unlock insights, enhance decision-making, and support continued growth across a diverse investment landscape.


Location: Dublin (Hybrid working model)


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver robust Data and BI solutions that meet the analytical needs of investment professionals and operational teams
  • Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and automated reporting frameworks
  • Contribute to technical solution design and architecture within an agile, cross-functional engineering squad
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers, investment operations, and technology stakeholders to define project scope and execution plans
  • Support existing systems and processes while driving continuous improvement in data quality, resilience, and scalability
  • Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and ongoing team development initiatives


Candidate Profile

  • Experience: Minimum 4 years in a data engineering or business intelligence capacity, ideally within financial services or asset management
  • Strong ETL/ELT development experience (e.g., SSIS, SSAS, Informatica)
  • Solid SQL skills and familiarity with data modeling concepts
  • Experience with Python or C# preferred
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Familiarity with BI and data platforms like Tableau and Dremio is advantageous
  • Agile Mindset: Comfortable working within agile delivery frameworks using tools such as JIRA or ServiceNow
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in fast-paced environments
