Data Architect Lead

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Data Architect to provide senior architecture leadership across a complex, large-scale transformation programme.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and governing the end-to-end data architecture, ensuring alignment across business requirements, operational platforms, integration services, data products, analytics, and reporting.

This is a senior leadership role requiring an individual who can combine strategic architecture expertise with hands-on delivery experience and operate effectively across multiple business and technology workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the target-state and transition-state data architecture for the programme.
• Lead conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling across multiple workstreams.
• Map source-platform models to canonical, enterprise, analytical, and reporting models.
• Define business data domains and establish reusable data products.
• Align reporting, dashboard, and analytics requirements with sustainable data and semantic models.
• Define integration patterns and end-to-end data flows across the technology landscape.
• Establish data architecture standards and provide architecture governance and design assurance.
• Lead cross-functional architecture decisions across business and technology teams.
• Act as the primary data architecture point of contact for key programme stakeholders.

Required Experience

Our client is looking for candidates with significant experience operating at Lead or Principal Data Architect level within complex transformation programmes.

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Proven ownership of end-to-end data architecture across multiple workstreams.
• Strong data modelling and integration architecture experience.
• Experience with data products and data-as-a-product principles.
• Strong understanding of analytics, reporting, and semantic modelling.
• Architecture governance and formal design assurance experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
• A strong combination of strategic architecture and hands-on delivery experience.
• Microsoft Fabric architecture experience – essential.
