Data Engineer (Snowflake)


Location: Dublin, Ireland


Type: Contract (6 months)


Job Description:

Our client, a leading organisation in the financial services sector, is seeking a Data Engineer with strong Snowflake experience to support the design and implementation of robust data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions.


Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Snowflake and Azure-based services.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to interpret requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
  • Optimise Snowflake environments to support both analytical and operational workloads.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance by applying best practices for governance, access control, and security.
  • Troubleshoot and monitor data workflows using Azure Data Factory and Snowflake diagnostic tools.
  • Produce and maintain clear documentation of integration processes and transformation logic.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on data integration and cloud architecture best practices.


Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a data engineering role.
  • Proven expertise in Snowflake including schema design, performance optimisation, and secure data provisioning.
  • Solid experience with Azure Data Factory for orchestrating data pipelines.
  • Proficient in SQL and scripting for data transformations in large data environments.
  • Strong background in data modelling across conceptual, logical, and physical layers.
  • Experience working with SQL Server in enterprise data environments.


Desirable Skills

  • Certification in Snowflake or Azure Data Engineering is a distinct advantage.
  • Familiarity with end-to-end testing and automation of data validation.
  • Experience with documenting integration patterns and collaborating with architecture teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset with a proactive approach to delivery.


Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
