Data Engineer (Snowflake)
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Type: Contract (6 months)
Job Description:
Our client, a leading organisation in the financial services sector, is seeking a Data Engineer with strong Snowflake experience to support the design and implementation of robust data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Snowflake and Azure-based services.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to interpret requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
- Optimise Snowflake environments to support both analytical and operational workloads.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance by applying best practices for governance, access control, and security.
- Troubleshoot and monitor data workflows using Azure Data Factory and Snowflake diagnostic tools.
- Produce and maintain clear documentation of integration processes and transformation logic.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on data integration and cloud architecture best practices.
Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a data engineering role.
- Proven expertise in Snowflake including schema design, performance optimisation, and secure data provisioning.
- Solid experience with Azure Data Factory for orchestrating data pipelines.
- Proficient in SQL and scripting for data transformations in large data environments.
- Strong background in data modelling across conceptual, logical, and physical layers.
- Experience working with SQL Server in enterprise data environments.
Desirable Skills
- Certification in Snowflake or Azure Data Engineering is a distinct advantage.
- Familiarity with end-to-end testing and automation of data validation.
- Experience with documenting integration patterns and collaborating with architecture teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset with a proactive approach to delivery.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
