Job Title: IT Asset & CMDB Management Analyst


Job Type: 6-Month Daily Rate Contract (Hybrid)


Job Description

Our client, a leading organisation within the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced IT Asset Manager to support the governance, lifecycle management, and optimisation of IT assets and configuration data across the organisation. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate asset management, software compliance, and operational resilience through effective use of industry-standard IT asset management tools.


Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the organisation's IT asset inventory throughout the full asset lifecycle, from procurement through to retirement.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and governance of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) records and associated relationships.
  • Administer software asset management activities, including software inventory, licence tracking, usage analysis, and optimisation.
  • Support software compliance initiatives by monitoring licensing requirements and identifying potential compliance risks.
  • Conduct regular audits, reconciliations, and data quality reviews across asset management and CMDB platforms.
  • Collaborate with IT, procurement, security, and business stakeholders to maintain accurate asset ownership and configuration data.
  • Produce reporting and documentation to support governance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset management processes, data quality, and operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.


Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), or a closely related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience administering ServiceNow CMDB, ITAM, or similar configuration management platforms.
  • Experience working with software asset management solutions such as Flexera or equivalent tools.
  • Proven experience managing the complete lifecycle of hardware and software assets.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing models and software compliance practices.
  • Experience supporting internal or external audits, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including IT Operations, Procurement, Finance, and Information Security.


Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and best practices.
  • Experience with configuration management, service mapping, and discovery technologies.
  • Familiarity with operational resilience and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret asset data and produce meaningful reports.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Process improvement experience with a focus on data governance and operational efficiency.
  • Understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud services, and software environments.


Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or third-level qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant industry certifications in IT Asset Management, IT Service Management (ITIL), ServiceNow, or Software Asset Management would be advantageous.
