We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Security Engineer to join a leading financial services organisation on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their cybersecurity career to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, regulated environment. You’ll work alongside experienced security professionals, helping to protect critical systems and data while building a strong foundation for long-term growth in the field.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and support the operation of core security tools (SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls, etc.)
Assist with vulnerability assessments, tracking remediation actions across teams
Support the investigation and documentation of security alerts and incidents
Contribute to the development and maintenance of security procedures and technical documentation
Assist with identity and access management processes, including onboarding and offboarding
Collaborate with IT, operations, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to security policies
Keep up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats, tools, and best practices
Skills & Experience
1–2 years of experience in IT or information security (internships or co-op experience considered)
Basic understanding of security principles, networking concepts, and common threat vectors
Familiarity with tools such as SIEM, antivirus solutions, vulnerability scanners, etc.
Exposure to system administration (Windows or Linux) is an advantage
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
Clear and confident communication, with the ability to collaborate across teams
Desirable Qualifications
A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field
Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SSCP, or equivalent are a plus
Experience in financial services or other regulated environments is beneficial
