Job Description:
Our client, a leading professional services organisation, is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure & Security Engineer to join their growing Core Infrastructure team, supporting mission-critical services in a modern IT environment. The role will be a hybrid role.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate, support, monitor, and secure enterprise-level IT infrastructure covering Microsoft, Azure, networking, and backup technologies.
- Proactively maintain systems and resolve issues to minimise business disruption.
- Serve as escalation point for technical incidents, ensuring consistent and high-quality resolutions.
- Manage third-party service providers to ensure service levels are met.
- Monitor and respond to security alerts, performing triage and escalation as necessary.
- Oversee backup and recovery processes, including testing and documentation of BC/DR plans.
- Implement and maintain new infrastructure systems aligned with organisational security and functionality standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure, systems, and processes.
- Regularly update systems and apply necessary patches to maintain security posture.
- Contribute to out-of-hours support through participation in a structured on-call rotation.
- Stay up to date with evolving technologies and threat landscapes.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Proven track record in managing and supporting core IT systems in a regulated environment.
- Strong experience in SLA adherence and third-party vendor management.
- Experience with Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Azure, Microsoft 365) and related security tools.
- Practical knowledge of networking, backups, patch management, and endpoint security.
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Zscaler, Cisco Meraki, Check Point, CommVault, Defender suite, Microsoft Sentinel, KQL, Intune, SQL Server, and ManageEngine.
- Experience with hybrid environments and Zero Trust architecture.
- Exposure to security operations and vulnerability response practices.
- Azure certifications are a distinct advantage.
- Background in cost and license management in cloud environments.
Educational Requirements
- A third-level degree in IT or a related field is essential.
- Additional certifications in Microsoft Azure, security, or infrastructure platforms are beneficial.
