Platform Architect

We are seeking an experienced Platform Architect to play a key role in the design, delivery, and ongoing evolution of a modern Azure-based cloud and DevOps platform. This senior, hands-on position combines architectural leadership with deep technical expertise and will have a significant impact on how engineering teams build, deploy, and operate software at scale.

You will take ownership of the cloud platform roadmap, define standards and best practices, and work closely with development, platform, and operations teams to ensure the environment is secure, resilient, and optimised for performance and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, governance, and continuous improvement of an enterprise Azure cloud and DevOps platform
• Design, implement, and optimise CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Infrastructure as Code using Azure DevOps, Terraform, and related tools
• Establish best practices across cloud architecture, security, observability, reliability, and cost management
• Provide expert architectural guidance and hands-on support to engineering teams throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Develop reusable patterns, reference architectures, and automation frameworks to enable consistency and scalability

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in cloud, platform, or solutions architecture roles
• Strong expertise across Microsoft Azure, including PaaS services, DevOps tooling, landing zones, and governance
• Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, container platforms (AKS/Kubernetes, Docker), and API management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience mentoring and guiding technical teams

Desirable

• Experience in regulated or enterprise-scale environments
• Exposure to Database DevOps and API management platforms
• Additional language skills, such as German, are an advantage
