Platform Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join a growing Data & Analytics team supporting a large international organisation. You'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud infrastructure that enables modern data platforms and analytics solutions. Working within an Agile environment, you'll collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Developers, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, automated platforms while driving best practices across DevOps and cloud engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and release management processes.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and ARM templates.
• Support Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based data platforms.
• Manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, including testing and software updates.
• Monitor, optimise, and secure development and testing environments.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver scalable platform solutions.
• Promote automation, governance, and continuous improvement across the engineering lifecycle.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Experience designing and supporting solutions in Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and release management.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or ARM).
• Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, PowerShell, Java, Scala, or similar).
• Knowledge of Azure security, governance, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments with strong communication skills.

Desirable

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Exposure to data warehousing or modern data platforms.
• Experience with C#, Power Apps, or enterprise monitoring tools.
• Understanding of data management principles, including data quality and metadata management.
