We are seeking an experienced PMO Manager to join our client's team in Dublin.

This six-month daily rate contract focuses on designing and implementing a project and portfolio management framework that enables prioritisation, governance, and stakeholder engagement across the organisation. The role is delivery-focused with a clearly defined objective: establish a functioning, sustainable project portfolio model that can be handed over to an internal lead.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Setup

  • Design and implement a prioritised project management framework aligned to business strategy.
  • Ensure all initiatives have clear focus, defined scope, and are tracked through a structured portfolio view.

Governance & Process

  • Develop tailored governance models, approval workflows, and decision-making structures.
  • Introduce disciplined, transparent project delivery processes with stage gates.

Tools & Templates

  • Create easy-to-use templates for planning, risk management, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Standardise project documentation to enhance visibility and reduce friction.

Change Leadership

  • Lead stakeholder engagement to build support for the new portfolio model.
  • Act as a change agent, aligning senior leadership to structured project execution.

Reporting

  • Establish a robust reporting framework for real-time, actionable insights.
  • Drive the use of portfolio data in strategic planning and resource allocation.

Coaching & Handover

  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal staff for long-term ownership.
  • Deliver a seamless transition and ensure readiness for continued model evolution.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

  • Proven track record of setting up PMO, PPM, or governance frameworks in SMEs or hybrid organisations.
  • Experience operating in compliance-driven, regulated, or risk-sensitive environments.
  • Strong practical knowledge of delivery methodologies: Agile, Waterfall, hybrid.
  • Skilled in influencing senior stakeholders and aligning them to structured delivery models.

Skills

  • Hands-on with tools, templates, and reporting — not just strategic oversight.
  • Pragmatic approach to delivery — balancing agility with structure.
  • Strong communicator, able to simplify and convey complex project information to varied audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Third-level qualification in business, IT, or project management.
  • 7+ years in project/portfolio or PMO roles, including 2–3 years focused on setup or transformation.
  • Industry experience in leasing, financial services, or automotive is a plus, but not essential.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, MoP, or SAFe are advantageous.

What’s on Offer

  • Immediate Impact: Influence how change is delivered from day one.
  • Autonomy: Ownership over how frameworks are shaped and implemented.
  • Collaborative Environment: A close-knit, forward-thinking team eager to evolve.
  • Strategic Contribution: Drive lasting change with senior visibility.
  • Competitive Daily Rate reflective of experience and value brought.
  • Meaningful Delivery: Lead transformation without the delays of bureaucracy.
