Job Description:

Our client in the financial services sector is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the testing and quality assurance workstream for a large-scale, complex technology transformation programme.


Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a strategic testing workstream across multiple business-critical IT projects.
  • Coordinate with various internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure consistent and aligned testing processes.
  • Define, implement, and maintain a comprehensive test strategy aligned with broader programme objectives.
  • Engage stakeholders at all levels to promote understanding and support of testing activities.
  • Oversee full test lifecycle management, including planning, execution, reporting, and closure.
  • Track risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID) related to testing deliverables.
  • Ensure effective and efficient use of resources during all test phases.
  • Produce and present test metrics and documentation to senior stakeholders and programme leadership.
  • Support non-functional testing efforts, including performance, resilience, interoperability, and disaster recovery scenarios.
  • Supervise third-party testing engagements, particularly around penetration testing and security assurance.


Experience Required

  • Minimum 15 years' experience in IT testing, with at least 5 years in a senior test or programme management capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-scale test programmes within highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery testing frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure and application-level testing across diverse technologies.
  • Experience using industry-standard test and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Proven track record of delivering structured test documentation including test strategies and plans.


Desirable Skills

  • Exposure to various backup and recovery technologies and solutions.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools and methodologies, ideally with experience implementing automation frameworks.
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage cross-functional relationships.
  • Strategic problem solver with excellent communication and negotiation skills.


Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications in test management or project delivery (e.g., ISTQB Advanced, PMP, Prince2) are advantageous.
