Project Manager

We’re partnering with an established organisation in Dublin that is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join on an initial 6 month contract. This is a hands on delivery role within a business that is evolving its project management and PMO capability. The successful candidate will take ownership of a portfolio of small to medium-sized initiatives, bringing structure and momentum to projects that may initially be at an early or loosely defined stage.

The role

You’ll be responsible for taking projects from initial idea through definition, business case, approval and delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing multiple projects concurrently from initiation through to implementation and closure
• Turning early-stage requirements into clearly defined scope, objectives and delivery plans
• Developing project plans, milestones, business cases and cost/resource requirements
• Managing risks, issues, actions, dependencies and key decisions
• Coordinating stakeholders across business, operational and technology functions
• Working effectively where project resources are shared with BAU activities
• Identifying blockers and resource constraints early and driving actions to resolution
• Providing clear, credible project reporting to senior stakeholders
• Supporting the development of practical PMO processes, governance and delivery standards

What we’re looking for

This opportunity will suit an experienced Project Manager who is comfortable operating without a large, fully resourced project structure around them.

You’ll ideally bring:

• A strong track record of hands-on project delivery
• Experience taking projects from concept/business case through to delivery
• Experience managing several small or medium-sized projects simultaneously
• Strong project planning, RAID and dependency management skills
• Good business analysis and problem-solving capability
• Experience developing costed business cases or project proposals
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Commercial and financial awareness
• Experience working across business and technology teams
• The ability to create clarity and structure where requirements, ownership or timelines are initially unclear

Experience within businesses developing their PMO capability would be advantageous.

Project management qualifications are beneficial, but strong practical delivery experience is the priority.
