SAS Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders across Technology, Finance, and Risk teams to design and deliver effective, scalable solutions.

• Support all stages of project delivery — from initiation and requirements gathering through development, testing, and implementation.

• Translate business requirements into clear technical solutions and ensure all proposals are appropriately governed and approved.

• Analyse and interpret financial data to identify trends, challenge assumptions, and provide actionable insights.

• Ensure adherence to established standards, frameworks, and quality assurance processes.

• Produce and transfer comprehensive documentation to business-as-usual (BAU) teams for seamless operational handover.

• Identify, manage, and escalate risks or issues promptly to ensure timely resolution and compliance with internal procedures.

Essential Qualifications

• A third-level degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or another numerically or analytically focused discipline.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proficiency in SAS technologies such as SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS Visual Analytics, and SAS Data Integration Studio.

• Minimum of five years’ experience within the financial services or a similarly regulated industry.

• Demonstrated success in delivering technology-based solutions across full project life cycles.

• Strong analytical and interpretative skills with the ability to challenge and improve existing processes.

• Proven problem-solving ability and experience delivering practical, efficient solutions.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging at all organisational levels.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Hands-on programming experience in Python (including Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib) and familiarity with cloud computing concepts.

• Experience in project management or coordination, with the ability to prioritise complex, interdependent tasks.

• Proactive, self-starting approach with a collaborative and adaptable mindset.

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
