Job Description

My client, a large financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong General Insurance experience to play a key role in the delivery of a significant business and technology transformation programme.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished Business Analyst who can operate across complex change initiatives, engage confidently with senior business and technology stakeholders, and take ownership of requirements from initial discovery through to successful implementation.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead business analysis activities across complex transformation initiatives, establishing business objectives, requirements, scope, dependencies and desired outcomes.
• Work closely with senior business, technology, product and project stakeholders to translate business needs into clearly defined and actionable requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews and discovery sessions to understand existing processes, identify challenges and define improved future-state processes.
• Produce and manage high-quality analysis deliverables, including epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation and non-functional requirements.
• Apply strong General Insurance knowledge across areas such as commercial products, underwriting, policy administration, servicing and distribution channels.
• Manage requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle, maintaining appropriate traceability, prioritisation, change control and stakeholder agreement.
• Partner with delivery and testing teams to support test planning and UAT, including scenario development, defect management and business acceptance activities.
• Coordinate Business Analysis activities across assigned workstreams, helping to maintain consistent standards and supporting other analysts where required.
• Identify risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies relating to business requirements and communicate potential impacts to relevant stakeholders.
• Support implementation, operational readiness and post-go-live activities, helping ensure that agreed business outcomes and benefits are successfully delivered.

Experience Required

• Minimum 5+ years' experience working in Business Analysis or a closely related role, with demonstrable experience operating at Senior Business Analyst level.
• Strong, hands-on General Insurance experience, ideally encompassing commercial or business insurance products.
• Proven experience delivering complex business and technology change initiatives from discovery through to implementation.
• Strong requirements management experience, including user stories, acceptance criteria, process analysis and requirements traceability.
• Demonstrable ability to engage, influence and challenge stakeholders across both business and technology functions.
• Strong experience facilitating workshops and translating complex business needs into practical requirements and solutions.
• Experience working within Agile, Waterfall and/or hybrid delivery environments.
• Strong working knowledge of Jira and Confluence, particularly for requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Experience supporting testing and UAT activities as part of major change programmes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders at different levels.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working on product, process or data migration programmes.
• Knowledge of cutover planning and operational transition activities.
• Previous exposure to large-scale transformation or modernisation programmes.
• Experience supporting training, communications and business readiness activities.
• Understanding of operational excellence and continuous improvement principles.
• Strong process and data analysis capabilities, including root-cause analysis and future-state process design.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, third-level qualification or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline.
