Senior Cloud Infrastructure Operations Engineer

My Dublin based client is recruiting for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Operations Engineer. This is a perm role working on a hybrid model.

We are seeking a technically skilled and security-focused Senior Cloud Infrastructure Operations Engineer to lead cloud infrastructure operations and provide support for customer on-premises this role, you’ll ensure high levels of availability, performance, and security across modern cloud infrastructures while contributing to scalable deployment processes and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Enhance and secure deployment pipelines using Jenkins, Ansible, and related tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer-facing operational incidents.
• Strengthen security posture, support audits, and manage vulnerability remediation.
• Lead the design and evolution of automated deployment processes.
• Provide technical and deployment support for on-premises customer environments.
• Optimize AWS infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance tracking across multiple AWS accounts.
• Serve as an escalation point for operational issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to defining best practices.

Experience

• 7+ years in cloud infrastructure operations or DevOps roles.
• Proven expertise with AWS services, infrastructure-as-code, and automation tools.
• Strong hands-on experience with Jenkins pipelines, Ansible, and scripting (Python/Shell).
• In-depth understanding of IAM, audit logging, encryption, and secure deployment practices.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with Terraform, AWS Config, or AWS Security Hub.
• Experience with cost management and optimization tools.
• Background working within regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., SOC 2).
