Senior Infrastructure Engineer

My Dublin City Centre based client is recruiting for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer. This is initially a 6 month daily rate contract with a view to be extended. This role will require 2 days onsite per week.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to provide support for key infrastructure and application services. The organisation operates a multi-cloud environment that includes on-premises systems, Microsoft 365/Azure, and various third-party SaaS services.

The Wintel Engineer will have deep technical expertise in how business applications function within the operating environment, including their configuration and customisation to meet business, security, and operational objectives.

• Web platform administration
• Automation and scripting
• Application technical stacks

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and support infrastructure, applications, and systems.
• Work closely with IT Security, IT Management, Application Support teams, and external service providers to coordinate and resolve incidents and problems.
• Provide technical expertise to help resolve complex incidents and issues.
• Enhance and extend system management and monitoring solutions within a growing IT environment.
• Manage infrastructure and systems changes in line with change control processes.
• Drive innovation by identifying and implementing cost-effective infrastructure solutions.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server and Desktop technologies, including Group Policy and Intune MDM.
• Experience with Microsoft 365/Azure services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
• VMware Data Centre Virtualisation: vSphere ESXi, vCenter, SRM.
• Veeam technologies: Backup & Replication, Veeam One, Backup for O365, and Availability Orchestrator.
• System management and monitoring tools.
• Application delivery frameworks, including:
• .NET Framework, Java
• IIS, Apache, Tomcat
• Advanced knowledge and practical experience with Microsoft PowerShell scripting.
• Industry-recognised certifications are an advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
