Senior Project Manager


Job Description:

Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex business change and transformation initiatives. This role requires a strong blend of project delivery expertise and business analysis capability to successfully drive strategic programmes across multiple stakeholders and business functions.


Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale business transformation programmes from initiation through to implementation and transition into business operations.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, and overall governance activities.
  • Work closely with business leaders, subject matter experts, technology teams, and third-party suppliers to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and decision-making sessions to drive progress and alignment.
  • Gather, analyse, and document business requirements, user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
  • Coordinate testing activities, including user acceptance testing, defect management, and business sign-off processes.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to programme sponsors and senior leadership teams.
  • Support organisational change activities including communications, training, stakeholder engagement, and adoption planning.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies across business functions.
  • Ensure project documentation is maintained to a high standard throughout the project lifecycle.


Experience Required

  • Minimum 7 years' experience delivering large-scale business transformation, change, or technology projects.
  • Proven experience managing complex programmes involving multiple stakeholders, workstreams, and external vendors.
  • Strong business analysis experience including requirements gathering, process mapping, documentation, and stakeholder workshops.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project risks, dependencies, governance, and reporting structures.
  • Experience working across Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage at all organisational levels.
  • Experience coordinating testing activities and supporting successful solution deployment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently whilst managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Desirable Skills

  • Experience delivering HR transformation, business process improvement, or enterprise change initiatives.
  • Background working within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Scrum Master certification or practical Agile delivery experience.
  • Experience with business process optimisation and operational transformation programmes.
  • Knowledge of reporting, data analysis, and management information frameworks.
  • Experience working with enterprise software implementations and third-party technology providers.
  • Change management and organisational readiness experience.


Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent third-level qualification in Information Technology, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent) would be advantageous.
