Senior SQL DBA - Daily Rate Contract

My Dublin City Centre based client is recruiting for a Senior SQL DBA with strong Azure experience in managing and optimize database environments both on-premises and in the cloud. This role is hands-on, with responsibility for performance, security, and reliability across SQL Server.. This is initially a 6 month daily rate contract working on a hybrid model. 

Responsibilities

• Manage and support SQL Server databases in Azure and on-premises.

• Monitor, tune, and secure systems for maximum performance.

• Use PowerShell  to automate and streamline tasks.

• Handle SSIS, SSRS, backups, and recovery.

• Troubleshoot issues quickly and prevent problems before they happen.

• Keep documentation clear and work closely with other teams.

• Keep up to date with latest trends on SQL Server and Azure best practices.

Requirements

• A min of 5 years experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Strong background with Azure SQL and cloud-based database services.
• Expertise in backup, recovery, high availability, and performance optimization.
• Knowledge with Azure services such as SQL Database and Data Factory
• Understanding of Agile/DevOps practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting, prioritization, and communication skills
• Git
