Technical Business Analyst - Infrastructure and Security 

 We are working with a leading financial services organisation seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support a range of technology initiatives across IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity.

 This is an initial 6-month contract suited to a technically strong BA who can bridge the gap between business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity specialists and third-party technology partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document technical and business requirements across infrastructure and cybersecurity projects.
• Translate complex technical requirements into clear business requirements, user stories, process flows and acceptance criteria.
• Work closely with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Architecture, Risk and Engineering teams.
• Support projects involving infrastructure upgrades, cloud environments, security controls and technology remediation.
• Facilitate workshops with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Perform gap analysis and document current-state and future-state processes.
• Support project delivery from requirements gathering through testing, implementation and handover.
• Identify project dependencies, risks and technical constraints.
• Work within the governance and regulatory requirements of a financial services environment.

Technical Requirements

• Strong experience working as a Business Analyst / Technical Business Analyst within complex technology environments.
• Demonstrable experience across IT Infrastructure and/or Cybersecurity projects.
• Good understanding of areas such as networks, servers, cloud infrastructure, identity & access management, security controls, vulnerability management or infrastructure security.
• Experience working with technical teams including Infrastructure Engineers, Security Engineers, Architects and third-party vendors.
• Strong requirements gathering, process mapping and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence and Visio.
• Strong understanding of technology risk, governance and controls.

Highly Desirable

• Previous banking, insurance, payments or wider financial services experience.
• Exposure to DORA, NIS2, ISO 27001 or similar technology/security frameworks.
• Experience with cloud transformation, cybersecurity remediation, IAM or infrastructure modernisation programmes.
• Understanding of operational resilience and third-party technology risk.

The successful candidate will be a technically capable Business Analyst who is comfortable working directly with infrastructure and cybersecurity specialists while translating technical challenges into clear business requirements. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills will be essential within this highly regulated environment.
