My Dublin based in Dublin for a Technology Lead (eCommerce) this is a perm role working on a hybrid model. The eCommerce Technology Lead plays a key role in developing, improving, and supporting digital commerce platforms. This role works across multiple teams and external partners to deliver reliable, user-focused online experiences while driving ongoing enhancements and supporting business objectives. The position also manages the technology pipeline to ensure new features and updates are delivered efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve eCommerce platforms to meet current and future business needs.
  • Collaborate with external providers to integrate and optimise solutions across platforms such as Magento, Shopify, SANA, BigCommerce, and similar.
  • Maintain high standards of system stability, speed, and security.
  • Build effective working relationships with technology suppliers and partners.
  • Monitor performance to ensure commitments are met and services remain reliable.
  • Oversee agreements and negotiate terms that support value and quality.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with product, commercial, and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and shape practical digital solutions.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and support broader eCommerce initiatives.
  • Ensure technical work aligns with business goals and customer expectations.


Project Coordination

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of eCommerce technology projects.
  • Define project goals, timelines, and deliverables with key contributors.
  • Track progress, resolve challenges, and ensure projects stay within scope and budget.


Security & Compliance Management

  • Ensure all digital commerce systems follow relevant security, data protection, and compliance standards.
  • Implement controls to safeguard information and maintain platform integrity.
  • Carry out periodic checks to identify risks and strengthen defences.


Monitoring

  • Continuously assess platform performance to maintain a smooth and reliable customer experience.
  • Troubleshoot issues and put corrective actions in place promptly.
  • Drive enhancements that improve overall speed, stability, and efficiency.


Analytics & Reporting

  • Use monitoring and analytics tools to track system behaviour and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Produce insights and recommendations for optimisation and long-term planning.
  • Develop approaches that support consistent performance improvement.


Support & Issue Management

  • Assist internal teams and users by addressing technical queries and resolving issues quickly.
  • Establish and refine support processes to improve responsiveness and satisfaction.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operation of eCommerce platforms.


Backlog & Roadmap Oversight

  • Manage and prioritise the technology backlog to ensure timely delivery of updates and enhancements.
  • Work with teams to clarify requirements, refine tasks, and align priorities.
  • Monitor progress and adjust plans based on business needs and feedback.


Skills, Experience & Competencies

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Practical experience working with major eCommerce platforms (e.g., Magento, Shopify, SANA, BigCommerce).
  • Strong background in vendor coordination, technical delivery, and platform operations.
  • Good understanding of digital security and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple streams of work in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with monitoring and analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience in regulated sectors such as healthcare, retail, or similar fields.
  • Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.).
  • ITIL certifications.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations.
