This is a hands-on engineering role in a technology consultancy, so you won't spend two years on the same platform. You'll work on client projects, sharing the lead on the technical architecture and delivery of cloud infrastructure and DevOps solutions, and building the complex, high-risk parts yourself. The work spans AWS and Azure across different clients and sectors, so the variety is real and so is the breadth you'll build. If you've grown tired of maintaining one estate and want to keep solving new problems, this is that job.

What you'll do

• Design and build cloud infrastructure and DevOps solutions for client projects, staying hands-on throughout
• Take the lead on complex, high-risk components where the technical difficulty is highest
• Set best practice for cloud architecture, security, automation and infrastructure as code
• Build and own CI/CD pipelines that make delivery repeatable and reliable
• Deploy and run containerised workloads
• Work directly with client stakeholders, translating technical decisions into terms they can act on

What you'll need

• Strong hands-on cloud platform engineering, with AWS at the core (Lambda, EC2, ECS and VPC in particular)
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform, including reusable modules you've built and owned
• CI/CD pipelines built in GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins or similar
• Containerisation and orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes or ECS
• A genuine engineering background, coding in Python, Go, JavaScript or similar. This isn't a pure infrastructure role
• Comfortable working directly with clients and senior stakeholders
• Desirable: a second cloud platform (Azure or GCP), a consultancy or professional services background, and relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Terraform Associate or CKA
