Job Title: Programme Manager (Contract)
Location: Leeds / Hybrid (c. 2 days per week on-site)
Rate: Competitive (Outside IR35)
Length: 6 months initial

A leading organisation is seeking a Programme Manager to lead on a multi-year retail modernisation programme. This engagement focuses on delivering a new platform to replace legacy systems.

Programme Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead on a complex, multi-vendor programme delivering large-scale platform modernisation
  • Oversee multiple concurrent workstreams, ensuring alignment to a single governance model
  • Deliver programme governance, reporting, and stakeholder communication at senior level
  • Manage complex interdependencies across vendors, systems, and migration activities
  • Drive programme performance through KPIs, risk management, and budget oversight
  • Facilitate decision-making and remove delivery blockers across teams
  • Engage at both programme-level and detailed workstream delivery when required

Programme Manager Requirements:

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale technology programmes within retail environments
  • Strong experience running agile projects (e.g. Scrum) and agile at scale across multiple teams
  • Ability to blend agile delivery with traditional governance frameworks
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex dependencies across multiple vendors
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate diplomatically in complex environments
  • Solid technical awareness with the ability to interpret and communicate technical detail
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
