Job Title: Data Engineer (MI/BI & Analytics)

Location: Remote (UK-based)

Salary: Competitive + Benefits

Why Apply?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation investing heavily in its data and analytics capability, with a focus on building a modern, scalable enterprise data platform on AWS.

This role sits firmly in Data Engineering, but with a strong focus on reporting and analytics, giving you ownership across the full data lifecycle - from building pipelines and data models through to enabling insight via Power BI.

Responsibilities

You will design, build, and maintain a scalable Enterprise Data Warehouse using Amazon Redshift alongside a Data Lake architecture (S3), developing robust ELT/ETL pipelines to ingest and transform data from multiple sources. You'll ensure data quality, consistency, and performance across all layers, while optimising cost and scalability within AWS.

Alongside core data engineering responsibilities, you will play a key role in reporting and analytics, developing and maintaining Power BI datasets, dashboards, and semantic models. You'll enable self-service BI while ensuring governance, performance, and consistency of metrics across the organisation.

You will also automate data pipelines and reporting workflows, leveraging AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, and orchestration tools, while implementing monitoring, logging, and CI/CD practices. Working closely with stakeholders, you'll translate business requirements into scalable data solutions and provide ongoing analytical support.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a Data Engineer with exposure to BI/reporting

  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift and Data Lake architectures (S3)

  • Advanced SQL skills for data transformation and optimisation

  • Proven experience with Power BI (data modelling, DAX, reporting)

  • Strong understanding of dimensional data modelling (fact/dimension design)

  • Experience building and optimising ETL/ELT pipelines

  • Knowledge of AWS analytics ecosystem (Redshift, S3, Glue, IAM, CloudWatch)

  • Understanding of data governance, security, and access control

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to translate data into insights

What's in it for me?

You'll be joining a business where data is a key strategic priority, with the opportunity to shape and develop a modern analytics platform from the ground up. This role offers a strong blend of data engineering and analytics, giving you real ownership and visibility, alongside the flexibility of remote working and the chance to work with modern AWS data technologies.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified individuals regardless of background, identity or circumstance.
