Job Title: Database Administrator
Location: Hybrid (1-2 days per week in Leeds)
Rate: Competitive daily rate, Outside IR35
Contract Duration: 4 months initially

A leading technology driven organisation are looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA to support a capacity uplift programme on a major database platform. This role offers the chance to work with modern hardware, cloud, virtualised, and physical database environments, helping plan and optimise database infrastructure ahead of implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of SQL Server database systems, assessing current infrastructure and creating detailed plans for database redistribution across new hardware.
  • Work within Microsoft ecosystems across physical, virtualised, and cloud-based database platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate capacity requirements and ensure performance and reliability.
  • Prepare systems ahead of hardware rollout, ensuring smooth deployment and minimal disruption.
  • Provide expertise in database management, troubleshooting, and optimisation to support ongoing projects.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with SQL Server administration and database management.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem technologies.
  • Experience with physical, virtualised, and cloud-based database platforms.
  • Nutanix experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Self-sufficient and capable of taking ownership, evaluating systems, and creating actionable plans.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
