About the Role

We're recruiting a Head of Programme Management to join a newly established Central Transformation Office for an enterprise business in Leeds.

This is a rare greenfield opportunity to build enterprise-wide programme delivery capability from the ground up during a period of significant strategic growth and transformation. As Head of Programme Management, you'll hold a critical senior leadership position, working closely with key stakeholders, including c-suite.

As Head of Programme Management, you will ensure that all transformation programmes are executed to the highest standards of delivery excellence, governance and stakeholder engagement. You will play a critical role in enabling our company to adapt, grow, and continuously improve in an increasingly competitive and fast-changing industry landscape.

This role offers genuine strategic influence during a transformational period for a profitable, high-growth business with ambitious expansion plans and clear strategic direction.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Senior Programme Managers to ensure effective delivery of strategic programmes.
• Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the programme management team.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and closure of major transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, budgets, and benefit realisation targets.
• Ensure robust governance, reporting and risk management frameworks are consistently applied across all programmes.
• Intervene in at-risk programmes as needed to drive course correction and maintain delivery momentum.
• Work closely with the Transformation Office Director and senior stakeholders to prioritise the programme portfolio based on strategic value, capacity and risk.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with senior executives, business leaders, and external partners to ensure programme success and alignment
• Continuously enhance programme and project management methodologies, tools and templates.
• Drive consistency and excellence in programme delivery across the business, embedding best practices and lessons learned.
• Oversee programme budgets and ensure effective allocation and utilisation of internal and external resources.
• Support capacity planning and forecasting to align team resources with portfolio demands

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5-7 years of senior experience leading Programme Management functions and organisational readiness in large-scale, complex organisations
• Experience of establishing and embedding a best practice approach to Programme Delivery
• Proven track record of embedding enterprise-wide change across multiple business units
• Professional certifications such as PMP, MSP, Prince2, or Agile (SAFe, Scrum) are strongly preferred.
• Experience managing change across multi-site operations with large, diverse workforces
• Understanding of 24/7 operational environments and shift-based workforce dynamics
