As an Oracle DBA, you will:

  • Administer, support, and maintain Oracle database environments (including RAC, Data Guard, and ASM).
  • Monitor database performance, implement tuning improvements and ensure high availability and resilience.
  • Perform regular database backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Apply patches, upgrades and security updates.
  • Design, implement, and manage database security policies and access controls.
  • Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams to support database-related needs.
  • Write and maintain scripts to automate routine database administration tasks.
  • Perform capacity planning and forecasting to ensure systems meet future demand.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.

What do I need:

Essential:

  • Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle 12c/19c architecture, installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM technologies.
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and tools (RMAN, datapump, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in a database environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

Desirable:

  • Oracle certification (e.g., OCP, OCA).
  • Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Shell scripting, or Python.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (OEM, Nagios, etc.).
