Platform Engineer

Role: Platform Engineer

Location: Leeds 1-2x a week

Contract Length: 3 months, chance of extension

Rate: Outside IR35

Start date: ASAP

Enablis are working with a Tech-for-Good organisation on an AWS migration project. The client are currently on a cloud migration journey, and are looking for Platform Engineer to support the migration from Windows Servers to an AWS PAAS. The ideal candidate will have experience with Windows Servers, AWS and Terraform as Infrastructure as Code.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the migration of on-prem Windows Server environments to AWS.
• Administer and maintain Windows Server technologies, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and VMware.
• Collaborate with 3rd party providers and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of the AWS migration project.
• Build, configure, and manage AWS infrastructure and services.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, and visualisations in Grafana to ensure system performance and availability.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and cloud-related issues during and post-migration.
• Ensure security, compliance, and best practices are applied across the new AWS platform.
• Provide knowledge transfer and support to internal teams to help build in-house AWS capability.

Essential Skills:

• Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Infrastructure Engineer
• Windows Server technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policy and VMWare
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS and it's associated technologies
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• Proven experience using Grafana to create and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, and visualisations.
