Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Manage the scoping, planning and implementation of business and change initiatives, ensuring delivery aligns with defined benefits.

  • Maintain core project documentation including Project Briefs, Project Initiation Documents (PID), Project Plans, RAID logs, milestone reports, closure reports and board-level updates.

  • Own and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting.

  • Identify, assess and manage project risks, issues and changes, developing contingency plans where required.

  • Develop and maintain realistic Project, Stage and Exception Plans using MS Project or similar planning tools.

  • Provide regular progress reporting to senior management and client stakeholders against agreed performance measures.

  • Drive innovation across solutions and implementation approaches.

  • Work closely with team managers to address delivery or resource challenges, providing appropriate challenge where necessary.

  • Provide oversight across multiple projects, ensuring governance and consistency in delivery standards.

Project Manager Requirements

  • Proven experience in project management and change management within complex environments.

  • Strong understanding of managerial functions including planning, organising, budgeting and evaluation.

  • Experience co-ordinating diverse stakeholder groups to achieve shared objectives.

  • Skilled in risk and issue management, financial control and programme governance.

  • Proficiency in MS Project or equivalent project planning software.

  • Experience managing third-party suppliers and remote delivery teams.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Commercially focused and results-driven, with the ability to command stakeholder confidence.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex, demanding projects to successful outcomes.
