Title: Security Engineer
Location: UK Remote - occasional travel
Contract: Competitive day rate - Outside IR25
Duration: 12 Months

This contract Security Engineer position offers the chance to work with enterprise scale cyber tooling, contribute to advanced threat detection capabilities in support a major organisation.

Responsibilities:
⦁ Configure and enhance Cortex XSIAM, including automation rules, alerting, correlation rules, and advanced use cases.
⦁ Implement recommendations from ongoing threat detection and response reviews and incident investigations.
⦁ Design and engineer security solutions based on findings from internal and external assessments.
⦁ Develop and architect detection logic, including MITRE ATT&CK-aligned rules and detection capabilities.
⦁ Provide secure configuration guidance and propose practical mitigation actions when full remediation isn't possible.
⦁ Support business-as-usual security operations across a mature and diverse security technology stack.
⦁ Translate complex cyber risks into clear, accessible communication for non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:
⦁ Must have hands-on experience with Cortex XSIAM or Cortex XDR, including configuration and automation.
⦁ Strong working knowledge of Active Directory and Azure.
⦁ Practical experience applying the MITRE ATT&CK framework to real-world use cases.
⦁ Incident response and threat detection expertise within enterprise environments.
⦁ Ability to design, engineer, and implement security solutions based on assessment outputs.
⦁ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
⦁ Proactive, self-starting approach suitable for a fast-paced, security-focused environment.
