Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the sole Solutions Architect for the business unit, taking ownership of its technology and architecture.
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to understand their challenges and establish clear requirements.
  • Work closely with the development team to understand their capability and tech stack, and design solutions they can deliver.
  • Produce specifications, wireframes and architecture diagrams for the development team to build from.
  • Help shape how architecture is governed, maintained and looked after across the business.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders and represent architecture at a senior level.
  • Collaborate with the group's wider architecture function to align standards and best practice.

Key Requirements

  • A background in software engineering or development, for example as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or .NET Developer.
  • Experience as a Solutions Architect, or a software engineer who has owned the architecture at a smaller company.
  • The ability to talk technically with developers about code and design.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, comfortable working with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong requirements gathering and solution design skills.

Desirable

  • Microsoft stack experience, such as C# and .NET
  • Microsoft Azure
  • TOGAF or another architecture framework
  • Experience with architecture governance

What's in it for me?

  • Salary of c.£75,000 plus excellent benefits.
  • Hybrid working, with 3 days per week in a modern Leeds office around 10 minutes from the station.
  • A brand-new role with genuine ownership of the architecture for a whole business.
  • Support from the group's Lead Solutions Architect.
  • A strong management and leadership culture.
  • Clear room for progression as the architecture function grows.
