An excellent opportunity for an experienced SOX Programme Manager to lead and coordinate a complex SOX compliance programme within a large-scale technology environment. This role requires strong stakeholder leadership, structured programme oversight, and the ability to ensure control owners are accountable and audit-ready.
With a broad landscape of systems and stakeholders in scope, this individual will play a critical role in driving alignment across technology, finance, and operational teams, ensuring controls are understood, evidenced, and operating effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the end-to-end SOX programme across technology and business control owners.
- Act as the central point of accountability for SOX delivery, ensuring milestones, testing timelines, and audit requirements are met.
- Engage directly with control owners to ensure responsibilities are clearly understood and executed.
- Track control performance, evidence submission, remediation progress, and testing readiness.
- Proactively identify delivery risks and drive mitigation plans across stakeholder groups.
- Facilitate regular governance forums, steering updates, and stakeholder communications.
- Ensure consistency in documentation, reporting, and audit artefact quality.
- Work closely with Internal Audit and external auditors to align on scope, testing plans, and expectations.
- Challenge delays or gaps constructively, ensuring accountability across all levels of seniority.
- Drive continuous improvement in programme structure, reporting, and compliance processes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience delivering SOX programmes in complex, multi-system environments.
- Strong understanding of SOX compliance, IT General Controls , and financial reporting controls.
- Demonstrable experience managing senior stakeholders and influencing control owners.
- Excellent communication skills - able to engage technical teams, finance stakeholders, and auditors with equal confidence.
- Strong governance and reporting capability, with experience tracking programme-level risks and dependencies.
- Ability to drive ownership and accountability without direct line management authority.
- Experience working within large annual SOX audit cycles.
